ASCLEPIUS, son of Apollo and Coronis, is a god of medicine in ancient Greek religion and mythology whose name we leverage to identify our research group on Smart Technology for Smart Healthcare.

The members of ASCLEPIUS have contributed to the advance of medicine and healthcare from an Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) perspective for more than a decade. Our research contributions range from toxicity discovery of engineered nano-compounds, and modelling of human body fluids and organ mechanics, to the study of human ageing, and cognitive systems. Moreover, due to the sensitive nature of our research, we pay attention to guarantee the highest standards for information security and privacy protection, and even developing novel ad-hoc security and privacy solutions.
